There are many great places to go and wonderful things to see in the Yucatan.
Our friend Scott Wormwood is originally from the US but has lived here in the Yucatan for almost twenty years. Most of that time he has been employed by a number of tour related companies, as well as organizing and conducting trips himself. Over the years he has guided thousands of people.
Scott knows the Yucatan!
Scott speaks some Mayan, as well as English and Spanish. He has guided people to all the usual archaeological sites such as Chichen' Itza', Izamal, Uxmal, Dzilbilchaltun, and many more. He can also take you to working haciendas, museums, and a few special places the buses and crowds never get to! He will take you to truly great local restaurants and not the "Mexican Buffets" the big operators take you to.
Let Scott know what your interests are, history, archeology, scenery, etc., how much walking you want to do (or not do), any diet situations to consider, how long the tour day should be, and Scott will make suggestions and plan something for you. The dates you are here will matter too as there are many special events and small town fiestas that will give you a real taste of Mexico and send you home raving about the great time you had.
Leave your camera behind! Scott is also a photographer and you can discuss having him make up a digital album of your trip. He knows the best scenes and angles to shoot and you can be free to enjoy the show. Instead of taking pictures yourself take home plenty of great pictures with you in them. Let Scott do the work and you just have a good time.
Prices depend on many things such as number of people, travel distance, length of tour, etc., but Scott is reasonable and typically less expensive than the big tour operators with the big overhead expense.
Let us know what you have in mind and we'll make sure La Casa Lorenzo was the right decision.
